RV stewards finalise Tom Prebble race fall inquiry
Racing Victoria stewards have concluded their inquiry into the fall that left apprentice Tom Prebble with a spinal cord injury.
Prebble remains in rehabilitation, having lost all sensation in his lower body after falling from the Andrew Bobbin-trained Pulveriser, which knuckled at the 700m mark of a race at Warrnambool in September.
Stewards inspected the track and questioned riders Jake Noonan, Jarrod Fry and Jordyn Weatherley, who were racing nearest to Prebble during the incident.
Pulveriser’s veterinary records were reviewed and trainer Andrew Bobbin confirmed the gelding had no issues leading into the race.
The inquiry found no evidence that a rider error or pre-existing condition contributed to Pulveriser’s fall.
