A catalogue featuring seven Group 1 winners and 111 black-type performers will be offered at the 2026 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast next month, with 374 lots to go under the hammer across two days.

The sale, to be held on May 26 and 27, will open with a session of race fillies and maiden mares, including 56 stakes performers led by Group 1 winners Captured By Love, Legarto, Quintessa and Vibrant Sun. Other entries include O’ Ole, Stretan Angel, Memo, Storyville, Super Smink and Military Tycoon.

Day two will focus on broodmares, with a further 55 black-type performers catalogued alongside proven producers and mares related to current elite horses. Among them are Group 1 winners Abbey Marie, Royal Merchant and Startantes as well as Amelita and Bonvicini.

Mares in foal to leading stallions are also expected to draw strong interest, including those covered by Extreme Choice, Anamoe, Home Affairs, I Am Invincible, Ole Kirk and Zoustar.

“The quality in this year’s National Broodmare Sale is incredible,” Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.

“On day one 40 per cent of catalogued lots are stakes winners or stakes placed – buyers are in for a treat.

“As well as so many stars coming straight off the track or destined for more big race success, there’s a cracking line up of broodmares with appealing pregnancies.”

Bowditch said the sale remained the premier breeding stock auction in the Southern Hemisphere, citing past graduates including Winx, Golden Sixty, Pierro, Zoustar and Nature Strip.

“There’s no other place in the world to be, at this time of the year than on the Gold Coast. Our sale extravaganza coupled with the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival provides a thoroughbred lovers paradise through late May and June.”
