Peter Jackson signs off as Dan Taylor prepares to lead Flutter

The outgoing chief executive reflects on FanDuel and The Stars Group deals after 13 years with the business, but will remain an adviser through the end of 2026.

Peter Jackson has officially handed leadership of Sportsbet owner Flutter Entertainment to Dan Taylor, ending nearly nine years as group CEO.

Jackson stepped down from the board on September 30 but will remain an adviser until the end of 2026 to support the transition, Flutter said in its succession announcement.

After 13 years with the business, Jackson reflected on its expansion in a LinkedIn post.

“When I joined the Betfair Board in 2013, I certainly didn’t expect to end up running the company. When I became CEO a few years later, I had big ambitions for what we could become. It’s fair to say we’ve gone further than I imagined,” he said.

“We took a chance on FanDuel when plenty of people thought we were slightly crazy. We brought Paddy Power Betfair and The Stars Group together just as Covid hit.”

Taylor was Flutter’s president and CEO of Flutter International before taking over as group CEO. He led Paddy Power Betfair from 2018 to 2020 and became group president in May 2026, overseeing commercial delivery throughout its portfolio.

“As for me, the immediate plan is more time with my family and on my bike, and a bit less time worrying about the weekend’s sporting results,” Jackson said.

The handover follows a separate leadership change at Sportsbet earlier this year, where Doug Brown replaced Barni Evans as CEO from June 1. Evans moved into a broader Flutter APAC & Emerging Markets role.
