Chaldean, Paddington foals tipped to be popular at NZB Weanling Sale

Buyers at Thursday’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Weanling Sale won’t have to wait long for the market to give their impression of the first crop of Cambridge Stud shuttler Chaldean, a dual Group 1-winning son of Frankel.

Haunui Farm is offering a chestnut colt by the young stallion as Lot 3, with the colt out of the stakes-performed Showcasing mare Novashow expected to prove popular with buyers just minutes into the one-day sale at Karaka.

Windsor Park’s shuttler Paddington, a son of Siyouni, also has a small representation at the NZB sale with Seaton Park’s colt out of Minnaleo also tipped to sell well.

The now Coolmore-based Super Seth, who was sold by Waikato Stud and shareholders earlier this year, has nine weanlings to go under the hammer including a colt out of Date Night from the Waikato Stud draft and another colt from Highline Thoroughbreds’ draft out of Loquita who could also capture the market’s attention.

Mark Baker’s Hallmark Stud has a Zousain colt out of Group 3 winner Ammirata who shapes as a nice prospect for buyers who may want to pinhook into next year’s yearling sales or even the two-year-old sales in late 2027.

The NZB sale at Karaka starts at 11am local time.
