Double Market hits $200,000 as date with Anamoe looms
Group 2-winning filly Double Market topped the Inglis Digital June (Late) Online Sale today, selling to Victorian breeder Geoff Walsh for $200,000.
The daughter of Castelvecchio was offered by Lindsay Park and is expected to be covered by young Darley stallion Anamoe this spring, with Walsh describing the multiple Group 1 winner as “the complete package”.
Lindsay Park’s Josh Rix said the stable was pleased with the outcome, adding: “We’re really happy with this result for our owners and we appreciate all the effort the Inglis Digital team went to to market her and get the sale result they did.’’
Takemine, a six-year-old daughter of Hellbent and a three-quarter sister to $5.6 million Chairman’s Sale mare Chayan, was the second-highest priced lot at $160,000 when purchased by Michael Pitt.
Pitt said Takemine would be retired immediately for broodmare duties, citing the strength of her family as a key factor behind the purchase.
Part-owner Jack Cavanough described the result as “a great result for us’.
The June (Late) Sale grossed $3.12 million, with Dayeala in foal to The Autumn Sun selling for $120,000 to Mayfair Farm and a Godolphin draft of 10 racehorses returning $435,500.
Leading the Godolphin consignment was three-year-old Comedy, which was purchased by Jack Bruce for $95,000.
