Ex-greyhounds chair, prominent businessman fill vacancies on Racing Victoria board
Two vacancies on the Racing Victoria board have been filled by the state’s racing minister, with Jonathan Hardwick and Peita Duncan appointed to the Tim Eddy-led body.

Racing Victoria has strengthened its leadership with the appointment of two new directors confirmed on Friday by the Minister for Racing, filling two vacancies on the board of the state’s principal racing authority.
Peita Duncan and Jonathan Hardwick will start immediately, arriving at the thoroughbred industry body with contrasting but complementary backgrounds.
Duncan previously spent a decade on the board of Greyhound Racing Victoria, including a stint as chair, and is regarded for her experience in racing administration, governance, integrity and regulatory reform.
Hardwick, the owner and group managing director of HFH Auto Group, brings more than 25 years’ experience across law, agribusiness, manufacturing and the automotive sector.
Their terms run until June 2028. Racing Minister Anthony Carbines has also extended the appointments of existing directors Mark Player (to June 2028) and Paul Guerra (to October 2027).
The changes follow the departure of deputy chair Sharon McCrohan in September 2025 after eight years on the board. McCrohan exited RV after being employed as the Australian Football League’s executive general manager of corporate affairs last year.
RV chairman Tim Eddy said the new directors would add valuable depth to the organisation.
“I welcome Ms Duncan and Mr Hardwick to the RV board of directors and congratulate them on their appointments,” Eddy said.
“I’d like to acknowledge the minister for his appointment of two individuals with great experience, networks and strong skillsets who will contribute to the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry.
“Congratulations also to Mark and Paul on the extension of their appointments; I look forward to them both continuing their excellent contributions.
“Finally, I would like to take the opportunity again to thank Sharon McCrohan for her eight years of service to the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry.
“The 2026 Festival of Racing is almost upon us with just eight days until our first Group 1 of the year. I look forward to working with our new directors during this exciting time.”
