George Scott plans 20-box Dubai base for expanded winter campaign
West Acre and Wimbledon Hawkeye are among five horses identified for the Newmarket trainer’s new Meydan operation, which will complement a separate Bahrain team.
George Scott will establish a 20-box Dubai base this winter as the Newmarket trainer expands an operation that has already produced success across the Middle East.
The horses are expected to arrive in mid-November, allowing Scott to target the early meetings of the 2026-27 Dubai Racing Carnival. Festive Friday at Meydan on December 18 is an early target.
“We are really excited to be stepping up our commitment to racing in Dubai and across the Middle East,” Scott said. “It feels like the right time to expand the operation internationally off the back of a series of fruitful winter campaigns in the region.”
Scott said the Dubai programme provided opportunities for different types of horses across several levels. His Bahrain horses will remain in a separate team rather than being combined with the new operation.
The expansion follows West Acre’s victory in the Group 2 Blue Point Sprint at Meydan and Isle Of Jura’s Bahrain Triple Crown campaign. Isle Of Jura completed the sweep for Victorious Racing by winning the Listed King’s Cup at Sakhir in March 2024, a success Scott described at the time as the highlight of his career.
