Racing SA has appointed former Hong Kong Jockey Club executive Ian Malpass as its racing operations manager.

Before relocating to Hong Kong, Malpass spent eight years with Racing and Wagering WA, rising from handicapper and judge to chief handicapper and assistant manager of thoroughbred racing.
His responsibilities in Western Australia included overseeing the thoroughbred racing department, prizemoney schedules and local incentive schemes.
Malpass has also represented Western Australia on the Australian Classifications Committee, served on the Asian Racing Federation Handicappers Committee, contributed to the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings and was secretary of the Asian Pattern Committee.
Malpass has been residing in Perth in recent times. He started with Racing SA last week.
