Minister calls for ATC independent director candidates
Expressions of interest have been opened for two independent director positions on the Australian Turf Club board.
The recruitment process has been approved under section 10 of the Australian Jockey and Sydney Turf Clubs Merger Act 2010 to fill the two independent director seats left vacant by the resignations of former chairman Peter McGauran and Natalie Hewson.
Retail executive Bernie Brookes was selected in March to fill a casual vacancy created by Ben Bayot’s departure, strengthening the member-elected contingent on the board.
The ATC is governed by a seven-member board comprising four member-elected directors and three independent directors appointed by Racing Minister David Harris on the recommendation of a selection panel.
Applications will close on May 15.
