Yulong has unveiled its 2026 stallion service fees while confirming Group 1 performers Devil Night and Private Harry will join the stud’s inaugural New South Wales roster in 2026.

The pair will spearhead Yulong’s expansion into the Hunter Valley, a move confirmed on Wednesday with the purchase of Segenhoe Stud.

Devil Night, a $1.4 million Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling graduate, retires as a Group 1-winning two-year-old after claiming the Blue Diamond Stakes in just his second career start.

In doing so, he emulated his sire Extreme Choice and became the first juvenile since his great-grandsire Redoute’s Choice to win the race at start number two.

Private Harry will also join Yulong following a high‑impact career, highlighted by a dominant victory in the Group 1 Galaxy.

By world champion Sprinter Harry Angel, Private Harry will retire as the first and fastest son of his sire to stand at stud, supported by a pedigree noted for early speed and precocity.

Yulong chief operating officer Sam Fairgray said the addition of Devil Night and Private Harry aligned with the operation’s commercial focus.

“These are two exceptional colts who bring different but equally valuable profiles to our roster,” Fairgray said. “Devil Night is a Group 1-winning two-year-old who trained on at weight-for-age, while Private Harry offers elite consistency and some of the fastest sectionals we’ve seen in recent years.

“Both are outstanding physicals with great minds, and they represent exactly what the market is demanding — speed, precocity and the ability to perform at the highest level.”

Introductory service fees for both stallions will be announced at a later date.

Alabama Express will headline the New South Wales roster at an unchanged 2026 fee of $66,000, marking a homecoming for the stallion who was bred and raised nearby at Arrowfield Stud.

Proven stallions Tagaloa and Lucky Vega will also stand in the Hunter Valley at $22,000 and $27,500 respectively.

In Victoria, Pierata heads the Nagambie roster at a reduced fee of $33,000, while Grunt, Vinrock, Diatonic, Panthalassa and first-season sires Growing Empire and First Settler complete a broad lineup.

Veteran champion sire Written Tycoon will remain private, covering a small group of Yulong mares only.

“He’s in great shape considering his age,” Fairgray said. “Everything is on his terms now and he’s a firm favourite on the stallion unit.”
