Pretty Baby could be Thousand Guineas bound

Back-to-back winner Pretty Baby could be aimed at a Melbourne Group 1 in the spring after an emphatic victory in Adelaide on Saturday.

Co-trainer Damien Moyle outlined ambitious plans for the three-year-old daughter of Barbados after she scored by 2.25 lengths over 1050m, her first start since winning the Listed Oaklands Plate at Morphettville in June.

Morphettville trainers Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle will scour the interstate calendar as they look at some better races with Pretty Baby after her impressive win in the opening race.

Moyle, who trains in partnership with Gordon Richards, said Pretty Baby has “got a bit of ability”.

“Whether we’re dreaming or not, we really want to have a crack at a Thousand Guineas,” Moyle told Racing SA.

“That was just a trial, so to do that, we’re on track. We have to test the water in Melbourne sooner or later, 1400m plus is right up her alley.

“We do have a big opinion of her and she’s just staring to put it all together.”

Pretty Baby, who has raced five times, ran fourth in the Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville in February to underline that she was above average.
