Winterbottom Stakes day added to World Pool schedule
Western Australia’s premier sprint meeting will join the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s World Pool program for the first time this year, with three races on Winterbottom Stakes Day at Ascot to be commingled through the global wagering platform.
The inclusion of the November 28 meeting marks the first occasion that the HKJC’s World Pool will operate from Western Australia, providing the TABtouch Pinnacles feature day with access to an expanded international betting audience.
The centrepiece of the program is the $1.5 million Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes, one of Australia’s leading sprint races.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club has also confirmed additional Australian World Pool dates for the spring carnival. Full-card World Pool coverage will be offered on Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes Day at Caulfield on September 19 and on VRC Oaks Day at Flemington on November 5.
A standalone commingled race will be conducted on November 14 with the Group 1 C F Orr Stakes selected for World Pool wagering.
Meanwhile, Flemington’s Group 1 Turnbull Stakes Day will return to the World Pool roster for the first time since 2023.
