Racing.com retains South Australian racing rights in new four-year deal
Racing Victoria has tightened its grip on the distribution of South Australian thoroughbred racing after securing a four-year extension to its media rights agreement with Racing SA, locking in Racing.com’s coverage through to 2030.

South Australian thoroughbred racing will remain on Racing.com until at least 2030 after Racing SA and Racing Victoria agreed to a four-year extension of their longstanding media rights partnership.
The renewed agreement ensures Racing.com will continue to broadcast South Australian race meetings across its free-to-air and digital platforms, while also cementing Racing Victoria’s role as the exclusive distributor of the state’s thoroughbred racing media rights in Australia and overseas.
The deal also provides ongoing certainty around the visibility and distribution of South Australian racing and extends a partnership that began when Racing.com first incorporated South Australian meetings into its coverage in 2017.
Under the new arrangement, South Australian racing will continue to feature year-round on Racing.com’s television network and streaming services, while Racing Victoria’s media division, RVL Media, will oversee the commercialisation and international distribution of the state’s racing content.
The agreement also includes a broader content-sharing strategy aimed at promoting South Australia’s horses, jockeys, trainers, clubs and racing communities. Racing SA’s dedicated Get On SA program will also continue under the renewed partnership.
Racing SA chief executive Nick Bawden said the extension reflected the success of a relationship that has played a significant role in lifting the profile of South Australian racing over the past eight years.
“Since joining Racing.com in 2017, South Australian racing has been able to reach audiences across the country on a consistent basis,” Bawden said.
“This agreement gives the industry long-term certainty while providing opportunities to further showcase the quality of our racing and the people who make the sport what it is.”
Racing Victoria chief executive Aaron Morrison said South Australian racing had become an established part of Racing.com’s daily coverage.
“We’re pleased to continue a partnership that has delivered benefits for both jurisdictions,” Morrison said.
“South Australian racing has become a key component of the Racing.com schedule, complementing Victorian racing and helping deliver a broader product to audiences nationally.”
As part of the wider broadcast arrangements, RVL Media and Sky Racing have also reached an agreement that will see South Australian racing continue to be carried on Sky Racing 1 and Sky Racing 2.
The combined broadcast and distribution deals ensure South Australian racing will maintain extensive domestic coverage while continuing to reach international audiences, including in New Zealand and Hong Kong, through Sky Racing’s global distribution network.
