Tempted locked in for The Everest
Saturday’s runaway Premiere Stakes winner Tempted, the second favourite for next week’s The Everest, has been confirmed for the $20 million race.
Stamped as Godolphin’s likely Everest runner for some time, Tempted’s owner-breeder officially locked her in for another clash with Ka Ying Rising.
Just hours after the Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising had a spin around in a barrier trial at Randwick on Tuesday, Godolphin Australia managing director Andy Makiv said: “She is an outstanding mare, unbeaten in 2026 and I’m sure she will represent Godolphin extremely well.
“As a Godolphin homebred, we are all very proud of her and the thrill she gives us on race day. She also represents our Darley stallion brand as a daughter of Street Boss, the US shuttler and resident at Northwood Park.”
Tempted ran second in last year’s Everest, won by Ka Ying Rising. She is a $6 chance in early Everest markets behind Ka Ying Rising ($1.30).
