Showtime colt quickest at Gold Coast breeze-ups
A Showtime colt breezed the quickest in the first lot of breeze-ups ahead of next month’s Magic Millions Horses in Training Sale.
A Showtime colt from the Nolen Racing draft recorded a slick 10.00 seconds to be the fastest in the opening session of breeze-ups ahead of the Magic Millions Horses in Training Sale.
The chestnut colt, catalogued as Lot 127, is out of Mileyva, from the highly successful ‘Alberton’ family which includes Group 1 winner Wyndspelle. He worked on the Gold Coast Turf Club course proper.
A Kingman colt offered as Lot 92 by Newington Farm Premium Consignment, acting for Yulong, recorded the next-fastest time, 10.11 seconds. He is out of the Irish mare French Dispatch.
Kenmore Lodge’s Lot 32, a chestnut colt by Hong Kong Group 1 winner Stronger from Urban Jewel, ran 10.37 seconds, while Epsom Lodge’s Better Than Ready colt, Lot 56, ran 10.39 seconds on the Polytrack.
Most horses breezed on the course proper, with a smaller group using the synthetic surface.
The auction will begin at the Bundall Sales Complex on October 12. A second breeze-up session is scheduled for Scone on September 30, while supplementary entries close on October 5.
