Strong nominations for Robert Sangster Stakes and Australasian Oaks
South Australia will open its 2026 Adelaide Racing Carnival on Saturday week, with 33 nominations for the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes and 31 entries for the Group 1 Australasian Oaks.
The Robert Sangster Stakes nominations are led by defending winner Charm Stone from the stable of Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, with Mark Zahra set to ride.
Chris Waller has nominated Generosity, to be ridden by James McDonald, and West Australian contender Super Smink is entered for trainer Dan Morton.
Additional entries include Shadhavar from the Tom Dabernig stable with Kerrin McEvoy booked, while Anthony and Sam Freedman have nominated Ameena, Inkaruna and Point Barrow, alongside Skybird for Mitchell Freedman and In Flight from Sydney trainer Joe Pride.
The Australasian Oaks entries are headed by VRC Oaks winner Strictly Business for trainer Thomas Carberry, with Getta Good Feeling from Danny O’Brien, as well as After Summer and Salty Pearl among the nominations.
Further entries include Panova, another McDonald ride for Waller, New Zealand filly Confesara and South Australia’s best chance Mating Call, who is expected to be ridden by Jamie Melham.
