Service fees for established Vinery stallions stay the same

As Vinery Stud welcomes sire newcomer Hawaii Five Oh to its roster, the Hunter Valley breeding operation will keep service fees for its existing stallions at the same level as 2023.

“We believe our stallions are of a very high quality, while also representing fantastic value and give breeders the best possible chance on a return on their investment,” Vinery general manager Peter Orton said.

Hawaii Five Oh’s arrival will boost Vinery’s 2024 roster to seven stallions.

The recently retired Group 3-winning son of champion sire I Am Invincible will stand his first season at stud at $16,500 (incl GST).

Ole Kirk, whose first crop of foals to go through the sales ring this year fetched up to $1 million, remains Vinery’s highest-priced stallion.

The 2020 Caulfield Guineas and Golden Rose winner will again stand at a fee of $55,000 (incl GST).

Proven Group 1 stallion All Too Hard, the sire of Alligator Blood, Forbidden Love, Behemoth and Hong Kong star Wellington, has been left at $38,500 (incl GST).

Exceedance has made a promising start to his stud career as the sire of two-time Group 3 winner Dublin Down and his service fee is also unchanged at $33,000 (incl GST).

Star Turn and Headwater will stand for $27,500 (incl GST) and $9900 (incl GST) respectively.

Headwater’s fee has dropped from $13,200 in 2023 despite sharing the lead on the Australian two-year-old ladder with Too Darn Hot after siring eight individual winners so far in 2023/24.

Vinery stalwart Casino Prince, the sire of roster companion All Too Hard, remains at $5500 (incl GST).
