‘Wonderful record for producing top-tier performers’ – Stallion power fuels Magic Millions Horses in Training Sale

Magic Millions has confirmed a reduced 166-lot catalogue for its Horses in Training Sale on the Gold Coast, with the company promising an array of stallion representation for the October 12 breeze-up auction.

The composition of the catalogue, made up of 153 two-year-olds and another 13 three-year-olds, features progeny of Gun Runner and Kingman as well as proven local stallions I Am Invincible, Snitzel, Ole Kirk, Toronado, Justify, Starspangledbanner, Hellbent, All Too Hard and Ghaiyyath.

“The Gold Coast Horses in Training Sale is an auction that has a wonderful record for producing top tier performers across Australia and abroad,” Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said. 

“Looking at the quality of horses we have – and from the feedback we are receiving from vendors across Australia – we are confident this record will continue with the 2026 graduates.” 

“Prospective buyers can have total confidence with the Gold Coast offering in October with Australia’s finest horsemen and women preparing the youngsters for a future successful career on the racetrack.”  

Breeze up sessions will be staged at the Gold Coast on the turf and poly tracks on September 22 and at Scone on September 30.

Vendors will also have the option of breezing up their two and three-year-olds on the turf or the poly tracks at the Hunter Valley racecourse.

The sale, which last year had a 203-lot catalogue, will be held on the Monday of Everest and Caulfield Cup week, with the Inglis Ready to Race Sale to be held three days later on Thursday, October 15.

Eligible horses purchased at the Horses in Training Sale can be paid up for the sales company’s lucrative Magic Millions Race Series while the auction house will also provide data of the breeze-ups to assist buyers in assessing the prospects of each horse.

“The industry leading TripleS data incorporates electronic chips providing interested parties with raceday quality data on stride length, frequency and speed,” Bowditch said.

“This innovation will be back again this year in a boost to vendors and buyers. We have received great feedback over recent years in regards to this technology – it’s great data to help build confidence among prospective buyers.”

New Zealand Bloodstock is expected to publish its Ready to Run Sale catalogue next week.
