‘Inconsistent’ surface forces Quirindi Cup switch

Racing NSW stewards have been forced to postpone the Quirindi Cup meeting because of an unsafe section of the track.

“After arriving on-course, stewards identified areas of concern between the 1000m and 800m that were inconsistent with the remainder of the surface,” a Racing NSW social media post said on Friday.

“Due to these sections being unavoidable, the meeting has been postponed.”

The meeting has been transferred to nearby Tamworth on Monday.

Three distance alterations across the eight-race fixture will be made but the $50,000 Quirindi Cup will remain at 1600m.
