Into Mischief’s Dubai World Cup winner Laurel River to stand at Woodside
Laurel River, a Group 1-winning son of champion North American sire Into Mischief, will shuttle to Woodside Park Stud in 2026.
The Victoria-based farm, owned by Eddie Hirsch, has secured a deal to stand the former Juddmonte-owned Dubai World Cup winner from Japan’s Big Red Farm.
Laurel River will stand for an introductory fee of $22,000 (inc GST).
Bred by Juddmonte Farms in Kentucky, he won six of 11 starts and earned more than US$7.5 million in prize money.
Trained initially by Bob Baffert, he later transferred to Bhupat Seemar after a Group 2 win in the Pat O’Brien Stakes.
His major success came at Meydan with wins in the Burj Nahaar and the Dubai World Cup, the latter by a record margin.
Laurel River was rated the joint Longines World’s Best Racehorse of 2024 with a mark of 128 alongside City Of Troy.
He will join a roster at Woodside Park Stud that includes Shalaa, Benbatl, Delaware and Foxwedge.
